Terms of Service

Last updated July 17, 2026

1. Using Documateo

Documateo provides file conversion, editing, and processing tools ("the Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you're using Documateo on behalf of a company or organization, you're confirming you have the authority to bind that organization to these terms.

2. Accounts

Some tools are available without an account. Others (Pro and Business tools) require a registered, verified account. You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity that happens under your account. Tell us right away if you believe your account has been compromised.

3. Plans and billing

  • Free plan tools are free indefinitely, with no obligation to ever upgrade.
  • Pro and Business are one-time, prepaid passes covering either 30 days or 1 year of access, purchased through Razorpay.
  • There is no recurring or automatic billing of any kind. We do not store your payment details for future charges, and no card, UPI, or bank account is ever debited without you actively starting a new purchase.
  • When your pass expires, your account automatically reverts to the Free plan. To continue Pro or Business access, purchase a new pass — nothing happens automatically.
  • Because passes are one-time purchases with a fixed, known end date, there is no "cancellation" to request — simply don't purchase another pass when the current one expires.
  • Prices may change at any time; a price change never affects a pass you've already purchased, only future purchases.

4. Refunds

If a paid tool doesn't work as described due to a fault on our end, contact us within 14 days of the purchase and we'll make it right, including a refund where appropriate. A full refund ends your active pass immediately; your account reverts to Free at that point. We don't offer refunds for accidental purchases after the pass has been used, or simple change of mind after a heavy-tool credit has been spent.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Documateo to:

  • Process files you don't have the legal right to process (e.g. copyrighted material you don't own or have permission to convert/edit)
  • Upload malware, or attempt to exploit, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to the Service
  • Automate abusive volumes of requests intended to degrade the Service for other users
  • Use any AI-powered tool (background removal, upscaling, OCR) to process illegal content

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

6. Your files, your responsibility

You retain full ownership of anything you upload or process through Documateo. We claim no rights to your files. You're solely responsible for having the legal right to process any file you submit, and for complying with any laws that apply to that content in your jurisdiction.

7. File deletion and availability

Files processed by server-side tools are automatically deleted within 2 hours, as described in our Privacy Policy. Download your results promptly — we can't recover a file after this automatic deletion runs, even on request.

8. No warranty

Documateo is provided "as is." We work hard to keep every tool accurate and reliable, but we don't guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for every specific purpose. Conversion tools, in particular, may not perfectly preserve complex formatting in every source document — review your output before relying on it for anything important.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Documateo isn't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the claim arose.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page, and signed-in users will be notified by email.
