Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated July 17, 2026

What this covers

This policy sets specific rules for using Documateo's tools, in addition to the general terms in our Terms of Service. Violating this policy can result in suspension or termination of your account.

You agree not to:

  • Process files you don't have the legal right to process — including copyrighted material you don't own or have permission to convert, edit, or redistribute
  • Upload malware, or attempt to exploit, disrupt, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or its infrastructure
  • Automate abusive volumes of requests intended to degrade the Service for other users, or to circumvent rate limits and plan-based usage caps
  • Use any AI-powered tool (background removal, image upscaling, OCR) to process illegal content, including content depicting the exploitation of minors
  • Use Documateo to generate, edit, or distribute non-consensual intimate imagery of real people
  • Resell or rebrand Documateo's tools as your own product without a separate written agreement with us
  • Attempt to bypass file size limits, credit limits, or plan restrictions through technical means rather than purchasing the appropriate plan

Fair use of heavy-tool credits

Pro and Business passes include a fixed monthly-equivalent allowance of heavy-tool credits (video, Office conversion, OCR, AI tools), described on our pricing page. These are sized for real individual or team use. Sustained usage patterns consistent with reselling raw API access, rather than using the tools directly, may be flagged and asked to move to a dedicated agreement.

Enforcement

We may suspend access to a specific tool, rate-limit an account, or terminate an account entirely for violations of this policy, with or without notice depending on severity. Files and data associated with a terminated account are deleted according to our Privacy Policy.
